Airholder is not a "one-off project" for us, but a product line built for the long term. That's precisely why we've focused on Europe as our value creation region from the very beginning – and on Germany as the center for development, production control, and quality assurance. Our goal is clear: a roof rack system that not only impresses today, but also evolves technically over the years – stable, transparent, and reproducible.
We develop and manufacture air holders in Germany. We use components that are produced both in Germany and by reliable partners in Europe. The final quality check takes place at our facility in Germany before any product leaves our premises.
Why “Long Term” is technically crucial for Airholder
For us, long-term development primarily means structuring processes and supply chains in such a way that quality is not left to chance . If a product is to grow over many years, specifications, tolerances, interfaces, and testing must be clearly defined – and remain stable across generations.
We achieve this through:
-
Controlled supply chains with traceable batches
-
documented changes instead of "silent" adjustments
-
clear manufacturing and testing standards
-
Technical feedback from real-world use incorporated into the series production
Germany as the center for responsibility and final review
We see Germany as a "single point of responsibility." Development, production coordination, and series production approvals all converge here – and final quality control also takes place here. This is crucial because a product ultimately must not only be correct "according to the documentation," but also in reality: fit, workmanship, completeness, and defined interfaces.
The final inspection in Germany is therefore an integral part of our system – not as a sign of distrust towards partners, but as a consistent means of ensuring series quality.
Traceability instead of a black box
Premium quality arises when a product remains consistent across many batches. This requires transparency: Which specification? Which batch? Which processing method? Which deviation? Which correction?
Our long-term strategy therefore focuses on:
-
traceable material and component origin
-
reproducible properties between serial batches
-
rapid identification of causes in case of deviations
-
stable standards that also work during growth
European production: shorter supply chains, faster improvements
Europe offers us a practical advantage that is crucial for long-term development: proximity. Proximity means faster technical coordination, faster iterations, and a clean implementation of improvements into series production – without months of delay due to distance and logistics.
This leads to:
-
shorter feedback cycles between practice and development
-
Plannable adjustments instead of hectic "emergency solutions"
-
Stable series quality despite continuous optimization
